The island is the architecture. The house is a careful occupation of the shore that looks at it.
Isola Privata is the working name of an estate on the mainland shore that faces Tavolara and the marine reserve. The plot is large enough that the buildings disappear into juniper. Eight bedrooms are split between the principal house and two pavilions, so the place can be inhabited at several scales.
There is a private slip, not a marina spectacle. Water, shade and the silhouette of the island are the three facts that matter. The estate is offered off-market; visits are arranged only after a first conversation in Olbia.
This is not a house for a first viewing on a Saturday in August. It is a long holding, and it should be approached as one.

On the ground
Tavolara is the landmark of the whole northeast: a limestone island that reads as a mountain. The residences we represent on this side of the gulf are chosen for that silhouette, for marine reserve water, and for a quieter season than Porto Cervo. Privacy here is geographic, not gated.
